Our story
Hakuba Excellence was born from a simple belief: that the Japanese Alps deserve to be experienced slowly, personally and with genuine expertise — not rushed through on a crowded bus.
We are a small team of certified local guides who live for these mountains year-round. From deep-powder winters to green-season trails, we craft private experiences that stay with you long after you leave.

Founder & CEO
Javier Calzada
A global snow sports leader with over 20 years of international experience, including 10 years in Japan.
A certified instructor and course conductor, Javier combines elite mountain expertise with a deep love of the Japanese Alps. The same standards that built Excellence Snowsports — safety first, excellence always — now guide every Hakuba Excellence adventure, in every season.
