Kamikochi Nature Walk

A gentle guided walk through Japan’s most beautiful highland valley — crystal rivers and dramatic peaks.

HikingEasyHalf / full day

Kamikochi is a pristine highland basin in the Northern Alps — turquoise rivers, wetland boardwalks and the soaring Hotaka and Yake peaks reflected in still ponds. Cars are banned, so the air is clean and the only sound is water and birdsong.

Your guide leads an easy, flat walk along the Azusa River, sharing the geology, wildlife and legends of the valley — a restorative day suitable for almost everyone.
